Home of The Little Massage Clinic, Caring for you, your family & your planet
Hi friends & neighbours!
Last month I gave you tips on how to prevent coughs, colds, wheezles & sneezles...this month here is some advice on how to treat them if those nasty bugs get through your now more robust defences.
If you get snotty, try avoiding mucous forming foods like bananas, chocolate, dairy, eggs, wheat & soya until you are better.
For tummy upsets try infusions of chamomile, peppermint, fennel or yarrow. Yarrow is particularly good for the runs.
For colds & flu supplement your diet with 1000mg vitamin C, & 45mg zinc. Try a good liquid multivitamin until you are better.
If you get a dry cough, try inhaling juniper berry & frankincense oils.
If you get a mucousy cough or catarrh, try inhaling eucalyptus & myrrh oils.
Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration & flush out the bugs.
Avoid sugar which compromises immunity; remember to check labels on all foods you buy for hidden sugars!
Eat plenty of onions & garlic; remember not to overcook them.
Eat plenty of fresh fruit & veg. Juices smoothies & home made soups are ideal & help rehydration. Fresh homemade chicken soup is especially reknowned for its restorative properties.
Take Echinacea tincture to boost immunity
For coughs, colds & flu drink a large cup of hot water with 1 spoon each of manuka honey, ½ cinnamon stick, one inch fresh ginger sliced & a slice of lemon to boost immunity & ease symptoms.
Burn ti-tree, lemon, lavender, eucalyptus, ravensara rosemary & thyme essential oils in your home. They are anti-epidemic, boosting your immunity & helping prevent you passing bugs onto your family. You can also use these in your bath or pop a few drops on a tissue. See my website: www.tlcinabottle.co.uk or give me a shout for supplies.
For coughs & sore throats, drink sage infusions & add some thyme or rosemary to further boost your immunity. Honey or lemon add flavour.
Colloidal silver attacks viruses. I use it for sore throats & infections. A few sprays into the back of your throat should help. Contact me for supplies.
Although you may not feel like it, if you can muster up the energy, wrap up warm & get some fresh air. It will give you a much needed boost.
In the next issue...how to look after your environment & save money using natural ways to clean your home.
Meantime, wrap up warm, & enjoy those cosy nights in. I'm looking forward to Halloween & Guy Fawkes.
Have fun & be well,
